Press Release

4th March 2003

West Country Company Storms Europe with it's innovative Tactical Data Link Solutions.

Building on it's success in supplying systems to the UK Ministry of Defence, Aerosystems International (AeI), have secured tactical data link contracts with Greece, Norway, the NATO Council.

In Greece, AeI is supplying AGILE, a sophisticated data link testing software package, to ISI Hellas in support of the new Airborne Early Warning programme for the EMB-145 AEW&C aircraft. AGILE, AeI's Generic Interface Link Emulator, is a complete test and development tool enabling the client to develop Link 16 scenarios within an emulated MIDS (Mutli Functional Interface Distribution System) network.

For Norway AeI will deliver our JTIDS Portable Capability (JPC) solution to operate as a Ground Station for testing and monitoring of JTIDS Network for F16 fighters and NATO will operate JPC from a Mobile data link van, during exercises.

JPC provides a comprehensive network monitoring and management suite. It also hosts a detailed situational awareness display, data reduction and analysis tool, alerts package and complete mission recording and replay facility. JPC is a man-portable system consisting of a number of ruggedised crates. In the basic configuration it consists of a terminal crate and network management unit.
In addition Norway has ordered LION, AeI's Link Interoperability Network. . LION enables interoperability tests to be conducted between geographically separated data link equipped integration rigs, through ISDN lines. This avoids the restrictions imposed by the use of live radio transmissions.

Steve Murdoch Operational Systems Director stated "We have been developing relationships with a European countries for a number of years now and are beginning to see the benefits, as our data link products can now be found in service with the armed forces of over eight European nations."

ISI Hellas, a software and hardware engineering and systems integration company based in Athens, has selected AeI ahead of several major defence contractors and it is hoped that the strategic win will lead to further work for both companies in support of this programme and other areas of the Greek Defence procurement.

Aerosystems International is a leading company in the analysis, design, development and delivery of complex, software intensive systems for the aerospace industry. It also develops cutting edge systems and smart technologies for various industrial applications.

Aerosystems International (AeI) is based in the United Kingdom and with offices in the USA. With over 400 personnel our range of skills allows the company to provide cost-effective solutions.

"On behalf of the entire Boeing C-17 team, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for supporting our efforts in securing the lease of four aircraft to the Royal Air Force(RAF). This is a significant victory, made possible in large part because of your work on our behalf, and we believe it paves the way for additional such programs in other countries. It is the benchmark and our collective performance will be watched closely around the world."
