| Charities benefit from AeI Support. |

Three local Charities will benefit from cheques, each amount to £1500, donated by Aerosystems International (AeI). The Company decided to donate the money it would have spent on Christmas cards to various charities in the SouthWest. Swordfish Heritage, The Sea Cadets and St Margaret's Somerset Hospice each received cheques from AeI's Chairman Sir Julian Oswald. Admiral of the fleet Sir Julian Oswald, formally a 1st Sea Lord presented the cheques to Ian Macdonald Chairman of Somerset and Dorset Branches of The Sea Cadets, Brian Murray Trustee of St Margaret's Somerset Hospice and Lieutenant Commander Bill Murton Royal Navy for the Swordfish Heritage Trust. The SEA Cadets which aims to "Support our youth and give them opportunities to see the world" plan to use the money to aid the funding for Scholarships and awards throughout it's Somerset and Dorset branches. St Margaret's Somerset Hospice, a local and independent charity which is the only hospice in Somerset, provides essential medical and nursing care for the terminally ill, using 16 bed at it's Taunton based hospice as well as home visits/support. All donations go towards funding these services which cost £2.8m per year Swordfish Heritage Trust was formed in 1990 and spearheads fundraising activities. These enable it to make appropriate grants to the RN Historic Flight to meet the flight's operating costs, so they can continue to display at Airshows and other major events during the months of May to September Note to Editors: Aerosystems International, jointly owned by GKN Aerospace and BAE SYSTEMS, was formed in 1985 for the sole purpose of developing aerospace systems and software, combining the avionics and systems expertise of GKN Westland with the software and project management skills of BAeSEMA.
