| Aerosystems International acquires Terrington Systems. |
|
Aerosystems International Ltd (AeI) has acquired York-based Terrington Systems Ltd – a systems solution company that will complement Aerosystems’ existing expertise in the aerospace and industrial applications market. Terrington Systems will operate as a subsidiary company and Scott Roy, managing director of AeI, confirms that it will be investing in the company and its staff. Scott says: "Terrington complements our expertise in maintenance and logistics business systems and will enable us to pursue more opportunities in the industrial sector." Mark Williams, managing director of Terrington Systems, said that the backing of AeI represents a superb opportunity to build on the foundations established in both the UK and the USA where the company has recently won a major order with NASA. Already well known for its "intrinsically safe" hand held computers that are widely used by the petrochemical and rail transportation industries, its data acquisition and analysis tools are ideal for the defence and aerospace sector – where Aerosystems is a key player. Aerosystems International Ltd is an information technology company specialising in the aerospace and industrial applications market. Jointly owned by GKN Westland and BAe, the company was formed in 1985 and now has a turnover of over £50m with offices across the UK and the USA. Note to Editors: Aerosystems International, jointly owned by GKN Aerospace and BAE SYSTEMS, was formed in 1985 for the sole purpose of developing aerospace systems and software, combining the avionics and systems expertise of GKN Westland with the software and project management skills of BAeSEMA.
