Trainee Software Developer Programme

The aim of our Trainee Software Developer Programme is to train young people to become skilled Software Engineers who will in turn become our work force of the future.

This programme will combine structured on-the-job work experience working as a member of a project team with off the job technical training through Yeovil College on a block/day release basis. After 4 years of study you can expect to obtain a Foundation Degree in Computing accredited by Bournemouth University as well as having established a career with one of the most innovative aerospace software companies in the global defence sector.

Foundation Degrees are new qualifications that have been developed to provide a gateway to the best vocational higher education to enable you to maximise your career potential to the full. All Foundation Degrees have been developed with leading employers and professional bodies. By combining valuable work experience with the academic structure of a degree programme graduates can acquire the right skills and knowledge for the job market. All Foundation Degrees link with at least one Honours Degree in the same subject area so once you have completed the foundation Degree you can head straight for your chosen career or opt to top-up your degree to an Honours Degree.

The scheme is aimed at school leavers and trainees must be able to demonstrate a practical aptitude for software engineering as well as the minimum academic entry requirements listed below.
